“Neurotoxin A — Preventing the Action Potential The graph shows that neurotoxin A causes only a very small depolarisation, reaching approximately 45 mV compared to the normal action potential that reaches +40 mV. Neurotoxin A must block the voltage-gated Na channels on the axon membrane, preventing Na ions from flooding into the axon. Because the influx of Na is blocked, the depolarisation is very small and does not exceed the …”
