Why Choose Group Tuition?

Group tuition is ideal for WJEC and Eduqas students who enjoy collaborative learning and benefit from hearing different questions and perspectives. You still get the same quality of teaching as one-to-one tuition, but at a significantly lower cost per student.

👥

Small Groups Only

Maximum 8 students per group. I keep groups small so I can give personal attention to every student — something I feel is essential.

📑

WJEC & Eduqas Specialist

As a former WJEC/Eduqas examiner, I know these specifications inside out. Every session is tailored to the specific demands of your exam board.

💰

Lower Cost Per Student

Group tuition starts at £50 per student per hour — significantly less than one-to-one rates while maintaining the same teaching quality.

📚

Everything Included

Past papers, detailed topic notes, video recordings, and full access to the student portal — exactly the same resources as one-to-one students.

How Group Tuition Works

Group sessions run from late September/early October until June, Monday to Thursday. I run separate groups for Year 12 and Year 13 students on both the WJEC and Eduqas specifications.

Other exam boards: I currently offer group tuition for WJEC and Eduqas only. If there is sufficient demand, I can run group sessions for other exam boards. Register your interest using the form below.

Who Group Tuition Is For

Group tuition is ideal for WJEC and Eduqas students who want structured, year-long coverage at a lower cost. You still get examiner-level teaching and the same resources as one-to-one — shared in a small group.

📚

WJEC & Eduqas Students

Structured coverage of the whole specification across the year, alongside other students sitting exactly the same exam.

💬

Collaborative Learners

In a small group you hear the questions you would not have thought to ask — and the answers stick because you learn from others too.

💰

Value Seekers

At £50 per student per hour you get the same examiner-level teaching and resources as one-to-one, at a fraction of the cost.

📅

Students Who Want Structure

A regular weekly session keeps your revision on track from the very start of the course, not just in the run-up to exams.

What You’ll Cover Across the Year

Group sessions run from late September/early October through to June, so we cover the WJEC/Eduqas specification systematically rather than cramming. Because I keep groups to a maximum of eight, every student still gets personal attention. I run separate groups for Year 12 and Year 13.

🌱

Year 12 (AS)

Basic biochemistry, cell structure and division, transport across membranes, the digestive and circulatory systems, and biodiversity and adaptation — building the secure foundations the A2 year depends on.

🧬

Year 13 (A2)

Energetics (photosynthesis and respiration), homeostasis and the nervous system, genetics and gene technology, ecosystems, and the synoptic, data-handling and practical-analysis skills the A2 papers demand.

Throughout, we work from past-paper questions and real mark schemes, so you are rehearsing exam answers all year — not just in the run-up to the exams.

Why a WJEC/Eduqas Specialist Matters

WJEC and Eduqas share the same specification and papers (WJEC in Wales, Eduqas in England), and I have examined for the board for around 13 years. That means I know precisely how the QER (quality of extended response) marks are awarded, how the unit structure works, and the recurring questions that separate a B from an A.

I am a Chartered Biologist (CBiol MRSB) and a Member of the Chartered College of Teaching (MCCT), and I hold a BSc (Hons) in Immunology from King’s College London and a PGCE. Group students get exactly the same expertise, resources and recorded lessons as my one-to-one students — at a fraction of the cost.

Group Tuition Questions

I currently offer group tuition for WJEC and Eduqas A-Level Biology. If there is sufficient demand, I can run group sessions for other exam boards — select “Other” on the registration form to register your interest.

Groups have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 students. I do not have larger group sizes as this would prevent me from giving personal attention to each student.

Group tuition runs from late September/early October until June the following year, Monday to Thursday. Specific session times are confirmed once groups are formed.

Yes. You get the same quality of teaching, the same resources, and the same examiner insight. The only difference is that you share the session with other students studying the same specification.

Yes, at any time. Many students do both — attending group sessions for general syllabus coverage and booking occasional one-to-one sessions for specific topics they find difficult.

No. Tell me your year group and exam board on the registration form and I will place you in the right group as it forms.

Group tuition is £50 per student per hour, paid in advance by bank transfer. I will send full joining and payment details once your group is confirmed.

Yes, and many students do — group sessions for full-syllabus coverage, plus the occasional one-to-one session for a topic they want to nail.

Every group session is recorded, so you can rewatch anything you missed. I also provide all notes and resources from the session via the student portal.
