Why Choose a UK-Based A-Level Biology Tutor?
As a UK-based Chartered Biologist and former A-Level examiner, I bring a level of examining insight and subject expertise that is difficult to find outside the UK. Whether your child attends a British international school, follows the Cambridge International curriculum, or is preparing for UK university entry, working with an experienced UK tutor gives you a significant advantage.
Examining Experience
I have been a former examiner for WJEC/Eduqas and Edexcel. I understand how A-Level Biology papers are marked, what examiners look for, and the precise language that earns full marks. This insight applies across all exam boards and specifications.
UK University Preparation
Many international students are preparing for entry to UK universities. I help students achieve the A-Level grades needed for competitive courses at Russell Group universities, including Medicine, Veterinary Science, and Biomedical Sciences.
Native English Speaker
Scientific precision in English is essential for A-Level Biology. I help students develop the exam-ready scientific vocabulary and writing skills that examiners expect, which is particularly valuable for students whose first language is not English.
All Specifications Covered
I cover Cambridge International 9700, Edexcel International, IB Biology, and all UK exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC, Eduqas). Whatever specification your school follows, I have the expertise to help.
Countries I Have Tutored Students From
I have experience working with A-Level Biology students from across the world. Online tuition means distance is no barrier — wherever you are, you receive the same expert, personalised support.
How Online Tuition Works for International Students
All my tuition is delivered online via a live interactive whiteboard. This means you get the same quality of expert tuition regardless of whether you are in Kuwait City, Dubai, Paris, or Hong Kong. Here is exactly how it works.
Flexible Time Zone Scheduling
I schedule sessions to suit your local time. For students in the Middle East (GMT+3 to GMT+4), I offer evening sessions UK time. For students in Hong Kong (GMT+8), I offer early morning or weekend sessions. We always find a time that works for both of us.
Live Interactive Whiteboard
We work together in real time on a shared digital whiteboard. I write, draw diagrams, annotate past papers, and work through exam questions — and you can see everything as it happens. You can also write on the whiteboard yourself so we can work through problems collaboratively.
Every Session Recorded
Every session is recorded and made available to you via the student portal. This means you can rewatch any lesson at any time — invaluable for revision, especially when studying across time zones where you might want to revisit material at a time that suits you.
Student Portal Access
You get full access to the student portal with past papers, topic notes, mark schemes, and all your recorded sessions in one place. Everything you need for your A-Level Biology revision is available digitally, accessible from anywhere in the world.
Simple Technology Requirements
All you need is a computer or tablet with a stable internet connection and a web browser. No special software installation is required. If you can use Zoom or Teams, you can use the whiteboard platform.

Exam Boards I Cover for International Students
International students follow a range of exam board specifications depending on their school. I cover all of them, so whatever specification your school uses, I have the subject knowledge and examining insight to help you succeed.
Cambridge International 9700
The most widely used A-Level Biology specification outside the UK. I cover all 5 papers, all 19 topics, and both the June and November exam series. This is the most common specification for students in the Middle East and Asia.
CIE 9700 page →Edexcel International A-Level
Popular in British international schools worldwide. The Edexcel International A-Level has a different structure to the UK domestic Edexcel qualification. I cover both the international and domestic versions.
Edexcel A page →IB Biology (HL & SL)
The International Baccalaureate Biology programme is offered in international schools worldwide. I support students with both Higher Level and Standard Level, including the Internal Assessment (IA) and extended response questions.
UK Exam Boards
Many British schools abroad follow UK domestic specifications: AQA (7402), Edexcel A (9BN0), Edexcel B (9BI0), OCR A (H420), WJEC, and Eduqas. I cover all of these with the same depth of examining insight.
How I Help International Students Succeed
International students face unique challenges — studying in a second language, preparing for UK university entry, navigating unfamiliar exam formats, and managing time zone differences. I address all of these in my teaching approach.
Examiner-Informed Teaching
Having examined for WJEC/Eduqas and Edexcel, I understand how structured questions are marked at A-Level. I teach you the precise language, level of detail, and answer structure that examiners reward — skills that transfer across all exam boards.
Scientific English Precision
A-Level Biology examiners require precise scientific terminology. I help international students develop the exam-ready vocabulary and writing confidence needed to express complex biological concepts accurately in English.
Past Paper Mastery
We work through real past papers together for your specific exam board, with detailed feedback using actual mark schemes. I explain not just what the correct answer is, but why other answers lose marks — building the exam technique that earns top grades.
UK University Application Support
Many of my international students are applying to UK universities. I help them achieve the Biology grades required for competitive courses and provide guidance on what admissions tutors look for in strong A-Level results.
