Half-Term A-Level Biology Revision — Focused Online Sessions to Close Gaps Fast
Use your half-term break productively with targeted, exam-board-specific revision from a former WJEC/Eduqas & Edexcel examiner. Whether it’s February, May or October half-term, I’ll help you focus on the topics and exam skills that will make the biggest difference to your grade.
Why Half-Term Is the Perfect Time for Focused Biology Revision
Half-term gives you something rare during the school year: a full week without lessons, homework deadlines, or timetable clashes. That makes it the ideal time to step back, identify where you’re struggling, and do the focused, targeted work that’s difficult to fit in during term time.
Whether you’re a Year 12 student building foundations or a Year 13 student closing gaps before exams, even 3–4 sessions during half-term can make a measurable difference to your understanding and exam technique.
Three Half-Term Windows Through the Year
February Half-Term
Typically week of 16–20 Feb
Mock results are back. You know exactly where the gaps are. This is the most valuable revision window for Year 13 students — early enough to make real improvements before summer exams.
May Half-Term
Typically week of 25–29 May
The final intensive push. Exams may have already started. This is about targeted exam technique, last-minute topic reinforcement, and building confidence for remaining papers.
October Half-Term
Typically week of 26–30 Oct
Ideal for Year 12 students consolidating the first half-term of new A-Level content, and Year 13 students getting ahead before the mock exam period begins.

What Half-Term Revision Sessions Include
My half-term sessions are not generic revision. Every session is tailored to your exam board, your specific weak areas, and your target grade. I use your mock results, past paper performance, and our initial consultation to build a focused plan for the week.
Personalised Revision Plan
Before half-term begins, we’ll identify exactly which topics and skills to target. No wasted time on content you already know — every session focuses on what will gain you the most marks.
Exam-Board-Specific Content
Sessions are tailored to your exact specification — AQA 7402, Edexcel 9BN0, OCR H420, WJEC 1400, Eduqas A400, or whichever board you study. Different boards ask questions differently, and I know the specific expectations of each.
Past Paper Practice with Examiner Feedback
We work through real exam questions together. As a former examiner for WJEC/Eduqas and Edexcel, I show you exactly how to structure answers that match the mark scheme — the specific language, the level of detail, and the common mistakes that cost students marks.
Recorded Sessions & Student Portal Access
Every session is recorded so you can rewatch explanations after half-term. You also get full access to the student portal with detailed notes, video tutorials, and additional exam questions.
Specialist Half-Term Revision for WJEC & Eduqas Biology
Finding exam-board-specific support for WJEC and Eduqas is difficult at the best of times. During half-term, it’s virtually impossible. The major tutoring providers focus almost exclusively on AQA and OCR, leaving WJEC and Eduqas students without specialist holiday revision options.
As a former WJEC/Eduqas examiner with over 13 years of teaching WJEC Biology at Gower College Swansea, I provide half-term revision that is genuinely tailored to the WJEC and Eduqas specifications — including the QER (Quality of Extended Response) questions that carry significant marks and require a specific writing style that other boards don’t use.
What to Focus on During Half-Term Revision
Half-term is short, so efficiency matters. Based on 25 years of teaching and examining experience, these are the topics and skills where a week of focused revision has the biggest impact on your final grade.

Absolutely. A single week of focused, structured revision with an expert tutor can make a significant difference. Even 3–4 one-hour sessions targeting your weakest topics and exam technique can close gaps that have been building for months.
Many students see measurable improvement after just one half-term of targeted work. See my students’ results.
February half-term is the most strategically important for Year 13 students. Mock results are usually back by then, so you know exactly where the gaps are, and it falls early enough before summer exams to make real improvements.
October half-term is valuable for Year 12 students establishing strong foundations, and Year 13 students getting ahead before mock season. May half-term is the final intensive push before exams begin.
Yes. I am one of the only tutors in the UK offering specialist half-term revision for WJEC and Eduqas A-Level Biology. As a former WJEC/Eduqas examiner, I know exactly what examiners look for in QER questions and how marks are awarded.
Most tutoring providers only support AQA and OCR during holiday periods. If you’re studying WJEC or Eduqas Biology, I can provide the board-specific support that simply isn’t available elsewhere.
One-to-one sessions are £80 per hour. Small group sessions (minimum 4 students on the same exam board) are £50 per student per hour. You can book individual sessions or a block across the half-term week. A free 20-minute consultation is included before you commit.

This depends on your year group and when the half-term falls. February half-term for Year 13: target your weakest topics from mock results and practise exam technique. October half-term for Year 12: consolidate the first half-term of AS content and build strong foundations.
In your free consultation, I’ll assess your position and create a focused revision plan for the week.
Yes. There is no minimum commitment. You can book a single session to work on a specific topic, or a block of sessions across the week for comprehensive revision. Many students find 3–4 sessions across a half-term week strikes the right balance between intensive revision and rest.
